A beautiful October day, the merging of two families, and smiles all around. Best wishes Charles and Melissa!

Our team was fortunate enough to work with the fun and dynamic husband and wife team of BellaLu Photography, Lindsey and Nathan Freitas!

Vicki + Gary | Same Day Edit

This was a crazy weekend for team Burkart! Friday had us in Los Angelas to film the wedding of Sno E Blac, which, coincidentally, was also being filmed for the WeTV show, “My Fair Wedding with David Tutera.” More to come on that wedding in a future blog post.

Saturday morning started early with a flight from LAX to SFO, then a relaxing drive Northward into Wine Country. The wedding was held at Meadowood Resort in St. Helena. On such a beautiful Fall day our spirits were high and the anticipation of the days event was building.

The absolutely stunning bride, Vicki Ting, and the ever so charming groom, Gary Weissenfluh, were wonderful to work with. They make a very handsome couple, with every moment they are near one another filled with the spark of passion, which really shows in the Same Day Edit we produced for them that evening.

The wedding was planned and designed by my friend, Frances Liu, of Charmed Events, and photographed by an incredible photographer, whom I’ve been wanting to work with for some time, Tanja Lippert. Hair and make-up was in the skilled hands of Tia Reagan.

I hope you enjoy Vicki and Gary’s Same Day Edit!

An + Kerry | Highlight Film

super fun couple = super fun wedding

I’ve been digging Florence and the Machine lately, so when the bride suggested this song I immediately jumped on it: Cosmic Love, acoustic recording.

Tom + Angie | Highlight Film

The chemistry between these two was very apparent during our initial Skype interview. And it became even more so after watching the slideshow that Tom created for their anniversary and to help him propose to his lovely fiancee, Angie. (Watch the slideshow and hear the absolutely charming tale of how this wonderful couple met and fell in love!)

Not only was it a joy to work with Tom and Angie, but it also great working with a very talented team of vendors: Jean Marks Event Design, Jessamyn Harris Photography, Thomas John Events Catering, and WowPretty, to name a few!

As part of their wedding film package I produced a highlight film. I hope you enjoy it!

Anna + David | Same Day Edit

I am hooked! Same Day Edits ROCK!

I’ve heard that producing a Same Day Edit is more stressful than what the payoff is worth, but I disagree. Instant gratification and the ability to be among the audience when your film is viewed for the first time is amazing!

Of course it doesn’t hurt when the subjects of your film are as awesome as Anna and David!

Anna Cuisia and David Diver flew us out to Washington DC to capture their wedding. It was a merging of cultures; David’s family is from Ireland, and Anna’s from the Philippines. The families met for the first time during the rehearsal and dinner prior to the wedding. The story in this SDE was effortless to convey as I opened the film with the welcome toast from the Bride’s father, Philippine Ambassador Cuisia, given during the rehearsal dinner.

I hope you enjoy this Same Day Edit!

Chengos + Ed | A Fairytale Stanford Wedding

I recently had the privilege of filming the fairytale-inspired wedding of Chengos and Ed, a cute and fun-loving couple who’s warm personalities and chemistry remind me why I am a wedding filmmaker! Here is a highlight of their wedding day.

I also had the pleasure of working along side the very talented photographer, Catherine Hall, which made an already great wedding that much more! Catherine just posted some of the photos from Chengos and Ed’s wedding on her blog. The following is an excerpt from her blog post and a link to the photo slide show.

If you’ve never believed in fairytales, Ed and Chengos, with their winning personalities and fun-loving playfulness, will make you a believer. Chengos and Ed had a starry night-themed wedding at their alma mater, Stanford, tied to the fairy-tale concept of wishing upon stars and dreams coming true. Soft purple lighting made the room dreamy and enchanted… [Read the Full Post]

Natalie + Edward | Save the Date

Natalie and Edward had a vision for a Save-the-Date film and they commissioned me to produce it for them. I met them on a peaceful Sunday morning at Filoli Gardens in Woodside, CA. We walked around the beautiful grounds and captured some great moments.

The premise for the film was to portray the couple as preppy, which is so not their actual demeanor. They both wore outfits from Brooks Brothers to pull off this portrayal.

To make it easier to share their save-the-date film with their friends and family I embedded the film in a custom site: http://natalieandedward.com.

Visit their site or check out their save-the-date film here!

A Whimsical Wedding at The Holly Farm

If I didn’t already know that Pauline and Brian were both gamers I would have known it for sure as soon as I saw their Super Mario themed wedding cake! (Jen’s Cakes rocks!) I am a total geek and I absolutely loved their Grand Entrance to Star Wars where the wedding party formed a column with raised “lightsabers” as the arch for the bride and groom to pass through.

I was happy to be working along side Michelle, Francisco, Maile and Elisa of MB Wedding Designs, as well as Armando of Get Your ‘Do Up, Steve Siglin, Scott Andrew of Scott Andrew Studio, Asiel Designs, Jen’s Cakes, Enhanced Lighting and Sound, Hartmann Studios, and DJ Ruben.

Below are some sneak-peak frame grabs from the wedding day footage, just a taste of what’s to follow.

One of my recently delivered DVD cases

I’ve discovered over the past couple years that more and more Event Filmmakers are delivering their wedding film DVDs in other than traditional DVD cases, such as foe-leather cases.

There is a lot to be said about some of these other options, the elegant leather look for one. From a business stand-point it is much less work (less work, more profit) and offers the appearance of added value (who doesn’t like leather?).

None of that was good enough for me. I decided early on that I didn’t want to jump on that wagon and I stayed with the traditional DVD case. I really enjoy creating the artwork for my wedding films and I believe it helps to not only make my productions stand out from the rest, but also make’s it uniquely the Bride and Groom’s.
