Hopefully an answer to your question can be found here, but please feel free to give us a call any time and we would be happy to answer all your questions and chat about your wedding day!
Q. What are the differences between your Highlight Film, Short Film, Feature Film, and Documentary Film?
A. A Highlight Film is an impactful retelling of your wedding day in about 5 minutes. Because of the short length only the most emotional and riveting moments of the day are chosen to be used. This is a perfect film to post to your favorite social networking site or download to your iPhone/iPod to share with your coworkers, family, and friends!
Our Short Film edit is similar to the highlight but because of the longer running time, about 10 minutes, a more complete story can be told.
Our Feature Film edit is quite dramatic, artistic, and fun to watch. We have a definable style that sets our work apart from others. Our goal for a Feature Film wedding movie, aside from creatively capturing the feeling and emotion of the day, is to make the movie watchable by all (including people who are not familiar with the couple) without the urge to press the fast-forward button! A Feature Film averages 22 minutes. The film is woven around music as well as real audio and voice-overs.
A Documentary film is all of the events of the day left in their entirety. No music or creative editing will be used in this edit. This film is edited long-form, an average 30-minute wedding ceremony will usually edit down to about 5 minutes in our Feature Film, but so that you do not miss anything the complete 30-minute ceremony will be included in the Documentary Film. Depending on the events of the day a Documentary Film averages from an hour to two in duration (all of the events of the day, such as ceremony, toasts, special dances, etc.).
Q. Who chooses the music for my video?
A. We always allow our couples to choose the music, or at least help direct us to the proper choices. The music should reflect both the personality of the couple and the mood of the day. However many couples give us free reign on the music choices.
Q. How will my High Definition wedding video be delivered?
A. Your High Definition Wedding Video will be delivered to you as a digital download, and a USB flash drive.
Q. Will you use bright lights?
A. When it does merit additional lighting a 10 or 20 Watt light is used to light the event.
Q. How long before I get my wedding video?
A. The time it takes to edit a wedding video can vary widely because of the uniqueness of every wedding. Turn-around can take up to 1 year, though the average is 10 months.
Q. Why does it take so long to edit?
A. We pride ourselves on creating unique wedding movies. Because each movie we create is unique to each couple they take more time to edit. Your wedding movie is something that you will have for the rest of your life. In 10 years when you watch your movie and it brings tears to your eyes and reminds you of all the wonderful emotions you experienced on that special day, all the time it took to create your wedding movie will seem more than worth the wait. Trust me, you’ll absolutely love your movie.
Q. How long is the finished wedding video?
A. The average length of our Feature Films are about 22 minutes. Our Documentary Films average 90 minutes in length. A Highlight Film is about 5 minutes in length.
Q. Is there a deposit required?
A. Yes. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to lock us in to the date. The balance is due one month prior to the event. For your convenience we take all major credit cards, personal checks, and money orders, gold bullion, pink slips, property titles, etc.
Q. What happens if the wedding is postponed?
A. Simply call us and we can reschedule your event up to one year in advance.
Q. Will you travel?
A. We serve the entire San Francisco Bay Area, but can travel to most any location you want. There will be a travel fee for locations outside of the San Francisco Bay Area (generally hotel, airfare, car rental, per-diem).
Q. What happens if I want changes made to the video?
A. We try very hard to understand your vision and style and taste in music but we understand that occasionally a client will want to request a change or two be made to the video. After the initial edit is completed you will be given one opportunity to request minor changes to the video such as removing a specific shot or changing one of the songs. If, however, we feel that the changes are too numerous or complex then further edits will be made only on an hourly basis at a rate of $100 per hour with a two-hour minimum.
